This is basically a test post. I am going to require some people to keep a blog and I'm undecided between Blogger and Wordpress. Whichever one is easier to use for someone who has little blogging experience (which I find hard to approximate) is the one I will chose for my students. Let's see...there are icons for simple formatting here: insert picture, insert movie, spell check, insert link, italicize, make bold. Then they can edit the HTML, but that really won't be necessary for this group. (Maybe many of them have Gmail, so they are already basically linked with this service?) Under "Post Options," they can choose to post the date and time, and they can make topic labels for their posts! They can moderate comments and edit posts as well. Hmm. Blogger looks like it could be a winner, especially since it's linked with an email address! I'm going to check on Wordpress and come back here to edit my post with my general thoughts on the topic.
