Good news, everyone! All my levels of everything fall into "normal." In fact, my levels are right in the middle of normal (except for my BMI, which is 24.4, or "normal, but if I eat a biscuit, will fall into overweight territory"). My resting heart rate is 68. My total cholesterol dropped 20 points since I gave blood a month and a half ago to even! lower! cholesterol! levels! My fats are good and my blood glucose levels are good.
Yay! I am healthy!
I'm so pleased that my efforts at eating balanced meals and working out almost every day are working out. I mean, I did go and eat a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich right after this biometric assessment, but to be fair, I was really hungry after fasting and this also counts as lunch.
To be really honest, I also ordered a side of bacon. Oh, it was so salty and good. Not eating meat for a while makes it SO MUCH BETTER when you eat a little bit.
Also, I'm really glad that the choice to drink soy milk rather than cow milk has alleviated some of my digestive difficulties. Now, if someone surprise bear hugs me, I will not toot and then go hide in a different room in embarrassment! (You'd be surprised how often these ferocious surprise hugs happen.) Go Team Lactose Intolerance! (I can still eat small amounts of yogurt, ice cream, and cheese, or maybe I'm deluding myself into thinking that because I love those things so much.)
Here I am, post-sandwich, today:
I'm dressed like I'm going to work out. Not with all that bacon and coffee in my belly, oh no. That'll happen later.
Here's a side view (with a little retouching for the cellulite, for your eyeballs' sake):
Thank you, tricep dips, for making my triceps pop out more after only three times of doing my reps. Thank you for also being easy to do anywhere there's a chair.
Last thing--I'm excited that one of my friends is committing to exercise with me at least two days a week, one of which is dedicated to Brazilian dance. Huzzah! We will shake our booties and sweat sweat sweat. I love exercising with her because she doesn't quit and she makes me work harder. Yay for solidarity!
